Australia’s third largest supermarket chain, ALDI, was expanding into both South and West Australia and needed to undergo a major recruitment drive. The Australian market is very competitive and they needed to ensure they attracted the best candidates for both the jobs and culture they foster.
ALDI's careers offering was outdated and hard to manage, it desperately needed a rethink.
As well as increasing applicant numbers, the solution had to give potential employees an accurate impression of what it means to work at ALDI and where they might realistically fit in the business.
Helium’s solution was to create a best-in-breed careers website designed to engage and excite potential employees.
To match an applicant with a role the website features a ‘Find the ALDI in You’ quiz which allows applicants to discover which roles they may be best suited for. The website also features details on training programs, remuneration, job descriptions, rewards and challenges and quotes from real employees, all of which contribute to increasing relevant applications and reducing management time.
A custom integration of PageUp resulted in an easy to use, filterable and always up-to-date job search.
The result is a modern, inviting user experience that contributed to a 500% increase in applicants in the months after launch and one that outshines ALDI’s direct competition.
